A cura di: Maura Garombo, Antonella Contarino, Fedrik Bordino, Carlo Rosso il Manuale è stato formulato sulla base del Northumbria Programme elaborato da: Gail McGregor, Roger Kennington, Maggie Dodds, Don Grubin del National Probation Service di Newcastle UK. Questo manuale nasce dal desiderio di trasmettere un modello di trattamento per i soggetti che hanno commesso reati sessuali, frutto di un’esperienza attuata dalla Società Italiana di Psicopatologia Sessuale (SISPSe) a partire dal 2009 presso la sezione per autori di reato sessuale della Casa Circondariale di Vercelli. Tale esperienza, iniziata dopo un periodo di formazione presso l’Unità di Medicina Legale della Newcastle University con il Prof. Grubin e con la supervisione del Prof Kafka della Harvard University, ha permesso lo sviluppo di un programma di trattamento di ispirazione cognitivo-comportamentale, che in Inghilterra è attuato da oltre 30 anni.  Il manuale, rivisitato a partire dall’esperienza inglese, è stato formulato sulla base della normativa italiana, si adatta sia al trattamento intramurario, sia territoriale e tiene conto delle caratteristiche del nostro ordinamento giudiziario e penitenziario. Il lavoro ha l’obiettivo di porsi come una guida pratica per i professionisti che si confrontano con “l’impresa” di realizzare un trattamento per soggetti il cui sintomo appartiene alla loro economia di godimento e, pertanto, così difficile da trattare. Il manuale propone un programma strutturato, dettagliato e scandito lungo la giornata di trattamento, basato sui fattori di rischio dinamici che sono alla base del comportamento d’abuso. Per ogni fattore dinamico sono fornite schede di lavoro con indicazioni delle fasi, tempi, materiali, tecniche da utilizzare nel lavoro individuale o di gruppo, nonché note per attenzionare i professionisti circa le criticità che possono insorgere nel lavoro terapeutico.
